Go on and hug your dog, but do not kiss him. In theory, giving a dog a kiss is cute, but realize that the mouth of a dog is generally very dirty. Dogs dig in trash cans, drink from toilet bowls and sniff and lick various body parts on themselves and other dogs. It’s just a myth that your dog’s mouth is just as, or cleaner, than yours. It certainly isn’t the truth.
Whenever you travel with your pet, don’t skimp on the packing. Also, bring a flat sheet for when your dog will be on hotel furniture.
Your dog needs to be secured when in a car. Never give your dog milk! It’s not necessary for his body and he doesn’t have the proper enzymes to digest it anyway. Feeding your dog cow’s milk can lead to chronic diarrhea and leave him with an upset stomach, among other health problems. Stick with plain old water for a healthy and hydrated dog.
